The 2007-2008 registration packages are available at the end of September
2007. They are being sent out to all registered members from last year.
If you would like to receive a registration package and were not an OCF
registered member last year, please contact registrar@ocfcheer.com.
If
our school isn't
allowed to do gymnastics,
acrobatics and
stunts, can we
still compete?
Also, can we compete
as a non-school
team even though
we are not city
run?
The
OCF does not have any
divisions for "non-mount" teams. 50% of the total score awarded at our competitions is for stunts/pyramids/tumbling/jumps.
We wouldn't stop you
from competing, but
your team would not
be very competitive
with the other teams.
Other competitions
which are currently
being run in Ontario
do not have a "non-mount" division either. Your best bet would be to investigate competitions in the US,
since several of their
companies do offer
a non-mount division,
or a "pom" division which is strictly dancing. Some of the competitions are run just south
of the border in states
like NY, Penn., Ohio,
Michigan, etc. You
may want to check out
the following links
to American companies... www.nationalspirit.com - NCA; www.coacheer.com - Cheerleaders of America; www.americheerinc.com - Americheer; www.varsity.com - UCA. Any or all of the above will probably offer a competition close to the
border with a non-mount
or pom division. If
you choose to enter
an OCF competition
under a club team name
and not with a school,
you will be required
to provide proof of
liability insurance
for your team members,
as they would not be
covered under a school
board should an unfortunate
incident occur.
